HISTORY OF CLEARSTORY ARTS

When Chattanooga Workspace, longtime home for artists in our city, closed its doors in 2020, there was an immediate huge need for creative space. The artists of the Workspace contacted Society of Work, who, alongside Miken Development Company, built what we now know as ClearStory Arts.
ClearStory Arts is a Tennessee non-profit organization with a passion for providing space for all things art - from collecting, to viewing, to creating, to celebrating, and more.
The building located at 1673 S. Holtzclaw historically was home to a yarn dyeing factory in the early 20th century.
